Pet Food Pantry

Hancock County Humane Society - Community Pet Food Pantry

We don't want any pets to go hungry. Our Pet Food Pantry is available to community members who may need assistance in feeding their pets, with the goal that no one has to make the difficult choice to surrender a beloved dog or cat that they can't afford to provide food for. Our pantry began on a limited basis in 2013, and since 2016 we have distributed thousands of pounds of pet food each year free of charge to community pet owners in need.

We attempt to keep our pet food pantry stocked with dog and cat foods through donations, grants, and participation in the IndyHumane Rescue Relief Program. We can always use donations of dry or wet dog or cat foods to help us keep the pantry filled.
Individuals who would like to receive food from our pantry need to bring ID, and proof that their animal(s) have been spayed or neutered. You must be present to pick up your food (a friend or relative may not pick up on your behalf). Visits may only be made once within a week's time.

Unless otherwise noted, the Pet Food Pantry hours are:

Tuesdays 5:30-7:00pm
Saturdays 10:00am-1:30pm

We are grateful to the Community Foundation of Hancock County for their recent grant to help stock our Pet Food Pantry.
