Thank you for your interest in the

Hancock County Humane Society!

We are a no-kill, non-profit animal shelter staffed entirely by volunteers and funded
entirely on donations from the local community. It is our goal to find permanent safe
and loving homes for the pets in our care.

We are currently open BY APPOINTMENT ONLY for those interested in adopting.

Please CLICK HERE for information on making an appointment.
Our pet food pantry for those in need is open on Saturdays from 10am-1:30pm
(and most Tuesdays 5:30-7pm)
and donations may be dropped off then as well.
We ask general visitors to please postpone their visit to another time.
We thank you for your understanding..

During November and December, you can also meet and adopt some of our kitties at the Smitten Kitten Cat Café
Our pet listings will indicate if a specific pet is at the Cafe rather than at our shelter.
Click here for information about making a reservation and adoptions at this very special place.
